Impressive, highly recommend it to anyone whom can read.
OK this book is a no brainer. Mr. Smart makes learning Excel simple and efficient. His website has tons of additional material and the practice excel worksheets are the best tool because you apply each lesson as you go. This makes learning easier and retention much greater. I'm one of the 10% of Excel users whom is now capable of creating a pivot table and pivot chart. I have four children and my 10 and 13 year old are now sharing this book with me along with the Essential Skills book. Thank you!

Great teaching tool
This book is very detailed, easy to follow and includes lessons to follow with the instructions. Being a hands on learner, it helps a lot. I have ordered this for quick reference for office staff.

Really valuable book (and a hint to make it easier to work with)
This is a really good book for getting better at using Excel. The lessons are laid out in easy bite-sized chunks that you can do when you have time - have an hour, do the whole section, just have 10 minutes, you can knock off at least one of the lessons. Just one thing that I really recommend - when you get the book, take it to someplace like Kinkos/FedEx and have them cut the spine off and bind the book with a spiral binding. This will allow the book to lay flat and be easier to work with. It's not hard to have open as it is, but you are going to want to be able to use two hands on the computer and not worry about holding the book open. It's fairly inexpensive to have this done (<$10 where I live) and makes working with the book soooo much easier. I also recommend the same technique if you happen to play the piano and have lots of lesson books around.

Invaluable!
When I first was introduced to computers at my work all the employees were encouraged to attend in house classes in Microsoft Word and Excel, versions 2003. The classes included free manuals that featured what I thought was unique, short, two page lessons each on just facing pages. Some students mocked the classes, not me. At home, after class, I devoured both the Excel and Word manuals. When asked to update my MS Office skills ten years later I stumbled upon the Learn Excel 2013 series that offered the same 2 page lesson feature. After working through the Learn Excel 2013 Essential Skills book I wasted no time ordering a copy of Expert Skills. As a mail room clerk tasked daily with Excel usage I found the series invaluable. Expert Skills did explore areas not essential for my work in the mail room, however, I eagerly worked through them all. I have never regretted a minute of time I spent with either of these two manuals.

Have FUN learning to be an Excel power user.
I am more than halfway through the lessons, and I am really learning about many of the advanced features of Excel. And it is fun. The book is organized so that each lesson fits on 2 facing pages with an excellent sample file that you work with. Lessons in each section build on the ones before, You get a sense of accomplishment as you finish each lesson and move on. I thought I was an accomplished Excel user, but I now realize I had only scratched the surface of what Excel can do. I have purchased quite a few books on Excel over the years, but this will be the only one I will have read every page (once I finish all the lessons, which I can hardly wait to do!) I recommend this book for anyone who wants to think of themselves as an Excel power user.

Mike Smart has done it again
Mike Smart has done it again! The best "teaching" Excel book/series on the market. You can't go wrong with this book. I was the office expert but I was humbled by my lack of skills. Start with his Essential book and move to the Expert. Even if you feel that you are an expert, it is worth the extra time to go through his first book. This is my go to reference when I am stuck with #null/iferror issues. Clear and logical , no tech speak.

Excited and Satisfied
The information is a little overwhelming due to the volume of the material. However the lessons progress quickly and the information is well laid out with solid explanations. Excel is an extremely strong tool and without this type of detailed information hours could be lost by not knowing the features are there or by not using the power of the tool efficiently. I believe this tool provides the information to enhance my knowledge and, therefore, my productivity when using excel. The flexibility of having it available when you are available to set your own learning pace is a huge benefit.
